A 32-year-old best-selling author, who recently became engaged to her boyfriend (Malcolm) of over ten years. She is a hopeless romantic who prides herself in having strong relationships no matter the type, and she will go to the ends of the earth to fight for the ones she loves. Outside of her boyfriend, she has three best friends who are more like sisters to her. She met one while in elementary school, and the other two, she and Jaden, met while they were in college, freshman year. She has confided in them about her doubts about walking down the aisle. Although she’s waited so long to get married, she just can’t seem to shake the feeling that maybe she’s making a mistake.
Her parents love Malcolm, however, and they feel this is the best fit for her and where she wants to go professionally. Malcolm even works with her father, so they have formed a bond even outside of she and his relationship. Together, the two of them have planned this huge wedding that they’ve vowed would be the talk of the town, and because of it, Cambria feels obligated to see it through. Cambria is worth about 15 million due to her family’s fortune and book sales. Her family is also very well known in the Atlanta circle of wealthy and affluent black folks.

She and Cambria have been best friends since meeting in second grade, and they are the two out of the friend group who have been friends the longest. Jaden is brutally honest and has a no-nonsense attitude, especially when it comes to Cambria. She does not hold in the fact that she cannot stand Malcolm, nor does she trust him. With her quick wit and sharp tongue, she tends to get herself into trouble at times, but she means well. She wants a great career and an exciting love life and won’t settle for anything less. It’s revealed on the trip that Jaden is still a virgin, and she’s just waiting for the right one to be worthy of her most prized possession.

She and her husband, Jarvis, who were high school sweethearts, married their senior year of college when she found out they were expecting fraternal twins whom she named Jarvis II and Jarvi after he husband. Tamara and Jarvis were in college to earn their bachelor’s degrees in political science so they could both enter law school and fulfill their dreams of becoming attorneys. However, upon finding out they were expecting, their plans changed, and instead Tamara gave Jarvis the green light to pursue what they both wanted while she focused on the kids. Once the kids started school, Tamara decided to finish her goals of attending law school and becoming a lawyer. She hopes to join Jarvis at the same law firm where he works as a criminal lawyer; however, her focus would be on family law. She is currently anxiously waiting on her scores from the BAR (which she’s taken and failed twice before, but the third time is hopefully a charm).
-
28-year-old Bahamian tour guide, chef, comedian, mechanic, fisherman, lawn care expert, and local historian. The comic relief of the film. Trevor is their bridge to all things Bahamian. She finds God in everything, because HE IS everything. She’s been single for a long time, but although she is celibate, she is still open to love and finding the one who would be a right fit for her and her newfound love for Christ. She wasn’t always a good girl; as a matter of fact, prior to her come-to-Jesus moment, she was out living her best life in the ATL streets. She tries to refrain from all things alcohol related, and although her best friends are still social drinkers, she does a pretty good job of remaining strong in the midst of temptation, because she knows that alcohol would erase all the progress she’s made expeditiously.
Avalibale roles:
-
Cambria’s on-again, off-again, 33-year-old boyfriend, who’s finally ready to settle down... or so he says. He’s handsome, “wealthy,” and has a way with the ladies. He has the gift of gab and the swagger to match. He’s the producer of Atlanta Nightly News and Cambria’s dad, not only owns the studio, but he is Malcolm’s mentor and long-term friend as well. He loves him. Malcolm, however, is no good and a scoundrel behind closed doors. He’s not only making shady business deals, but he's also not faithful to Cambria and is only using her to have real access to her family’s fortune. He not only has no intention of marrying Cambria he is also trying to bring her down.
-
A mid-thirties Bahamian artist and musician with a voice and heart of gold. He’s like a young Bob Marley with a sprinkle of Tupac. He’s the opposite of everything Cambria thought she wanted. They meet on the yacht party that Trevor takes them to, and they instantly hit it off. He has some unfortunate connections to Malcolm, but he soon finds out that connection is not worth it, and as much as it was not a part of the initial plan, he is quickly falling for Cambria.
-
35-year-old Edward is the oldest and only sibling of Cambria. He is intelligent with a doctorate degree, but all of a sudden, he decided to switch his career to become a DJ. DJ’ing, according to his dad, makes no real money, which is why he’s back home living with his parents. His mom is happy to have him at the house, but his dad is quick to remind him that he needs to get a real job and leave the house.
-
Randolph is a 60-year-old major studio production owner in ATL. He met his wife (Cambria’s mother) at an Ivy League school, and they’re the proud parents of two children. They not only own a home there, but they also spend many vacations there fishing in the Bahamas.
-
Cambria’s mother was a television producer at the same studio she and her husband own. She is an Emmy-winning producer and writer. She is now retired and a stay-at-home wife enjoying retirement. She is the more laid-back parent with a heart of gold, and she balances her husband’s headstrong energy well.
